DRUM MAKING WORKSHOPS
Rocky Mountain Heartbeat Drums Logo

Drum-making is a very esthetic, joyful and spiritually uplifting experience. It creates a unique connection with you, your drum and the Earth Mother.  Moreover, the satisfaction of using your own handmade drum at a drumming circle is supreme.

All drum kits include the parts for a drum beater. Also
VISA, Mastercard and Discover Cards are accepted. Just click on the drum image, below, to go to our shopping cart to select your desired options.

Drum making workshops are being held in Denver, Colorado. The workshop covers three main areas. First, there is a preparatory ceremony creating sacred circle.

The steps in the handcrafting the drum are illustrated by the images to the right. In the top image, the drum frame is being sanded so that they are smooth and can accept the hide to be stretched over it.

The next image shows the holes being punched in the hide for the lacing that will be stretched tighly over the drum frame.

The third picture shows the lacing of the drums that will stretch the hide evenly around the drum frame.

After the drum is completed, the next image shows the drum blessing being performed and, finally, the finished product. The satisfaction of a hand-made drum is hard to beat!
